So far I always kind of missed the oppoortunity to contribute to Sinktember for various reasons. But this year is going to be different. Here at TGS we have prepared a quicksand pit for people to try and get across. It is at about 2.8 meters wide and quite bottomless. For the duration of Sinktember each day a challenger will attempt to get to the other side. The rules are simple: approach the pit from the designed spot and reach opposite side. No walking around it of course, you need to go straight. Once you are clear on the other side, you succeed. You lose the challenge if you resign or your nose and mouth become submerged. Of course, preparations have been made to get participants who fail the challenge out of the pit.

So what exactly does this mean for you, you ask? Well, there is going to be a new post here every day next month, featuring an image of the would-be survivor and a short description of how they fared in the challenge. And in the end all these images will be collected in a new gallery as well.
