You might have seen Tabitha around the camp. She is not officially a tour guide yet, but she is currently training to possibly become
one in the future. This joyful girl was quite eager to take on our Little Pit of Doom. “Are you ready? Can I get started?” she asked Tara.
“Uhm, you already have,” Tara replied looking at Tabitha’s sinking legs.

Tabitha seemed a bit surprised that her knees had already vanished into the quicksand, but she then wasted no more time. She got one leg out and stepped forward, but the other was stuck. Then she shifted her weight forward in an effort to pull it free. It worked, but when the quicksand let go with an audible plop, she landed with her torso on its surface. This did not deter her from trying to struggle on, but she was mostly just moving downward. Still, it was fun to watch and she put quite some effort into it even though it was quite obvious that the pit would win this round. The quicksand steadily consumed more and more of the girl until it reached her neck. Only then did she resign, but still with a smile on her face.
