Before he took on the pit, Tom told me that he was happy to have his chance before Amy. This way he could “show her how it’s done.”
Considering that nobody had made it thus far, I did not take that statement too seriously. But then I thought maybe I was underestimating him.
He is an athletic guy after all, and I hear he and Amy have gone on plenty of sinking adventures together, so he has experience. too.

of trying, but rather because he was trying too hard, that he sank so quickly. Actually he was the first challenger to resign by actually going under.
Tara reacted quickly and got in there with rope and safety bouy. She got him out just fine. The only thing that was a little hurt was his pride.
